AND THE TOPICS THAT WERE DISCUSSED WERE UNDERAGE DRINKING, TRAFFIC SAFETY, DISTRACTED DRIVING, AND THE AUDIENCE RESPONSE OF THE JUNIORS. THEY ACTUALLY WERE REALLY ENGAGED. THIS WAS A WELL THOUGHT OUT PROCESS WHERE THEY HAD A DJ, THEY HAD GAMES SO YOU COULD GET THE JUNIORS WHO USUALLY SIT IN ASSEMBLY OR, YOU KNOW, JUST LOOKING THROUGH THEIR PHONES BECAUSE THEY'RE SO BORED. BUT THIS WAS A REALLY NICE PROGRAM WHERE THEY HAD GAMES WHERE KIDS WERE WINNING AMAZON GIFT CARDS IF THEY ANSWERED SOMETHING. RIGHT. SO I IT I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT AWARENESS CAMPAIGN TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR JUNIORS WILL BE GETTING THEIR LICENSES. ARE AWARE OF WHAT WHAT YOU KNOW, THE HARM OF DISTRACTED DRIVING AND IMPAIRED DRIVING. SO THAT WAS YESTERDAY AND WE WERE THERE AT 930. THE OTHER THING I WANTED TO BRING UP TO EVERYBODY WAS THAT WE HAVE BEEN TELLING ALL THE RESIDENTS THAT IF YOU'RE SEEING DRONES IN THE SKY, THAT IS FOR THE DEER POPULATION SURVEY. FORWARD. THERE'S SOME DELAYS, BUT IT CONTINUES TO WORK. AND ITEMS FROM DEP TO SATISFY THE LAW. GRANT BECAUSE WE ARE WORKING WITH THE LAW GRANT ON THIS. WE WILL BE DOING THE RECREATION COMMITTEE WILL BE DOING A FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN, BECAUSE THERE IS A GOAL OF $150,000. THERE IS A GAP BETWEEN WHAT WE HAVE GOTTEN FROM GREEN ACRES AND WHAT WE WILL NEED FOR THE FOR THE PLAYGROUND. WE ALSO THERE WAS DISCUSSION ABOUT TENNIS AND PICKLEBALL AT VANHORN PARK, AND THERE IS A LOCAL RECREATION IMPROVEMENT GRANT THAT THE TOWN HAS APPLIED FOR FUND. AND THERE HAS BEEN, AS EVERYBODY KNOWS, THERE IS AN INCREASED NEED FOR ADDITIONAL COURTS IN TOWN. AND WE ARE HOPING THAT WE GET THIS FUNDS AND WE WILL HAVE THESE TENNIS AND PICKLEBALL COURTS AT VANHORN BECAUSE THEY ARE A LITTLE AWAY FROM PICKLEBALL CAN BE A LOUD SPORT. SO THIS WOULD BE AND THERE'S ALREADY FLIGHTS THAT WOULD DROWN OUT THE SOUND OF PICKLEBALL. AND WE CAN HAVE THE PICKLEBALL COURTS THERE. AND THE OTHER DISCUSSION WAS ON THE CONCRETE CRICKET PITCH AT BROADWAY FIELD. IF RESIDENTS KNOW THERE IS A CRICKET PITCH AT BROADWAY, BUT CURRENTLY IT IS NOT A CONCRETE PITCH, AND DUE TO WET CONDITIONS AT BROADWAY, THE PITCH ROUTINELY NEEDS MULTIPLE HOURS OF WORK BEFORE THEY CAN HAVE A CRICKET MATCH THERE. SO THIS IS AN ASK THAT WAS MADE BY THE RESIDENTS. AND JOHN GROGAN, OUR REC DIRECTOR, IS WAITING ON A QUOTE FOR THE PROJECT, AND HE WILL LET THE COMMITTEE KNOW, AND I WILL LET THE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE KNOW AT THAT POINT.
