BUT THE RESIDENTS WILL HAVE AMPLE NOTICE OF WHEN TAXES WILL BE DUE. BUT THE IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THIS PRESENTATION FOR THIS SLIDE IS THEY'RE BEING DELAYED. SO YOU'RE NOT GOING TO RECEIVE A TAX, A PROPERTY TAX BILL THAT'S DUE AUGUST 1ST. SO NOW THE 2024 TAX RATE IS AS YOU CAN SEE, I HIGHLIGHTED AT THE BOTTOM IT'S 3.376 THIS YEAR. LAST YEAR WAS 3.372. SO NOT A LARGE INCREASE. THE REASON IT WAS NOT A LARGE INCREASE IS BECAUSE SCHOOL TAXES REALLY WENT DOWN BECAUSE OF LAST YEAR, BECAUSE OF THE, THE KINDERGARTEN. REFERENDUM AND THE CAPITAL THAT THEY HAD GOING ON. SO LAST YEAR, IF YOU LOOK AT THE REGIONAL SCHOOL LAST YEAR, THEY WERE AT ABOUT $96 MILLION. NOW THEY'RE AT $93 MILLION. SO THE NET OF THE COUNTY, YOU SAID YOU HAVE THE THREE COUNTY TAXES UP TOP. THE COUNTY, COUNTY LIBRARY, COUNTY OPEN SPACE. THEN YOU HAVE THE SCHOOL, THEN YOU HAVE THE MUNICIPAL PORTION AND THE MUNICIPAL OPEN SPACE, THE NET OF THAT BRINGS YOU TO 3.376 COMPARED TO 3.372 LAST YEAR. SO AGAIN, NOT NOT A LARGE INCREASE, COMPARED TO LAST YEAR, IF YOU LIVE IN FIRE DISTRICT ONE, YOU ALSO RECEIVE A .050, TAX. AND IF YOU LIVE IN FIRE DISTRICT TWO, IT'S .052, AND YOU'LL SEE THOSE ALL THE WAY AT THE BOTTOM, SO AGAIN, TAX RATE 3.376 COMPARED TO 3.372 AND 2023. ANY QUESTIONS ON THAT. IF YOU ADD ALL THREE COUNTY TAXES IN A FIRE DISTRICT, WHEN YOU TAKE THE AVERAGE OF THE TWO FIRE DISTRICTS, YOU'RE JUST AT ABOUT OF, THREE QUARTERS OF A PERCENT. THAT'S THE BREAKOUT OF YOUR PROPERTY TAXES. AGAIN, SCHOOL DISTRICT. THAT'S WHY WHEN YOU SEE THE SCHOOL DISTRICT LEVY DECREASE, YOU DON'T REALLY SEE A LARGE INCREASE IN YOUR OVERALL TAX, TAX RATE, EVEN IF YOUR OTHER ENTITIES ARE GOING UP A LITTLE. ANY QUESTIONS ON THE ALLOCATIONS HAVEN'T CHANGED MUCH FROM PREVIOUS YEARS. SO IT'S, PRETTY FASCINATING THAT WE'RE ALREADY GOING TO START TALKING ABOUT, THE 2024 BUDGET. WE SAID, RIGHT, WAS ADOPTED. EVERYTHING WENT WELL. WE HAVE OUR TAX RATE NOW. WE'RE GOING TO START SHIFTING GEARS. WE'LL BE GOING INTO THE 2025 PREPARATION, OF THE BUDGET, THAT STARTS IN MID SEPTEMBER. THAT'S WHEN, THE BUDGET REQUESTS GO OUT TO THE DEPARTMENTS. THEY'LL HAVE THEM BACK BY NOVEMBER. LORI AND I WILL START MEETING WITH THEM, MEETING WITH THE ASSESSOR, TRY TO GET THE RATABLES WE'RE LOOKING AT DECEMBER. PROBABLY START MEETING WITH THE BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEE TO SLOWLY START MEETING, NOT HAVING HEAVY YOU KNOW, THOSE HEAVY MEETINGS, THOSE USUALLY START IN JANUARY. BUT WE WANT TO HAVE PRELIMINARY MEETINGS, YOU KNOW, EARLY DECEMBER. AND WE'RE GOING TO REALLY START KICKING OFF JUST LIKE THIS YEAR. WE'LL HAVE MEETINGS ALMOST EVERY WEEK. GOOD EVENING EVERYONE, I WANTED TO JUST GIVE YOU A LITTLE UPDATE, I'LL TRY AND GO QUICKLY ON WHAT WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO DO THIS YEAR IN 2024, UPDATING SOME OF THE WAYFINDING AND IDENTIFICATION SIGNAGE, BASED ON SOME OF THE FEEDBACK WE RECEIVED FROM TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEMBERS, BUT ALSO MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC THAT WE INTERACT WITH, IN THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, WE SAT DOWN WITH VARIOUS STAFF, RICH DIETRICH, WHO'S OUR BUILDING'S FOREMAN. HE IS LEADING THIS PROJECT. SO THERE WERE A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT ITEMS WE WANTED TO ADDRESS. AND SO THIS SLIDESHOW WILL JUST KIND OF GO THROUGH THAT IN, IN, WHAT'S GOING ON? CAN YOU ALL SEE IT ON YOUR INDIVIDUAL DISPLAYS PROPERLY? YEAH. WE CAN DO, YEAH, WE CAN SEE, INTERIOR WAYFINDING ON THE FIRST FLOOR. THERE'S THREE ITEMS WE'RE ADDRESSING. ONE, THE MAIN STAIRCASE BLOCKS THE IDENTIFYING POLICE LETTERING OVER THEIR FRONT DOOR AND THE TOWN HALL BEING SITUATED IN THAT MIDDLE LOCATION, A LOT OF PEOPLE WALK STRAIGHT TO THE BACK AND THINK THAT THAT'S THAT'S THE ACCESS. SO SO THE POLICE RECORDS CLERKS DO GET A LOT OF PEOPLE SORT OF WANDERING IN WONDERING HOW, YOU KNOW, WHERE'S THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING. SO ONE OF THE THINGS AND, RICH DIETRICH DID WORK WITH THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AS WELL ON A LOT OF THESE, ON ALL OF THEM. WE'RE THINKING OF SHIFTING THE WORDS POLICE AND ADDING HEADQUARTERS. AND SO WHAT? THAT WILL DO ON THIS NEXT SLIDE AND REMOVING THE WORDS TOWN HALL AND REPLACING THEM UP ON THE SECOND FLOOR. SO AS SOON AS YOU THIS VIEW THAT YOU HAVE WHEN YOU WALK IN FROM THAT FRONT DOOR, YOU WILL SEE THE WORDS POLICE AND YOU WILL SEE THAT THE TOWN HALL IS UP ON THE SECOND FLOOR. SO AS YOU'RE COMING FROM THE EAST, IT WOULD BE TWO SIDED. AND PEOPLE THAT, YOU KNOW, SOME PEOPLE, NOT EVERYONE, BUT SOME PEOPLE DO USE THAT ENTRANCE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE COMING FROM THAT DIRECTION. AND THIS IS THE, OFF SITE SIGNAGE THAT WE ORIGINALLY APPLIED FOR A DOT PERMIT BECAUSE 806 IS UNDER THIS JURISDICTION OF THE STATE, AND WE WERE DENIED THE PERMIT BECAUSE THEY FELT THAT IT WAS BRANDING, WHICH THEY DON'T APPROVE, BRANDED SIGNS. SO WE, YOU KNOW, THE MAYOR TOOK IT UPON AS SHE HELPED LEAD THE CHARGE TO ADVOCATE TO THE DOT THAT THIS IS ACTUALLY VERY NECESSARY. WE'VE HAD MANY, MANY RESIDENTS COME IN, ESPECIALLY SENIOR CITIZENS, THAT, REALLY NEED TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO ACCESS THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, ESPECIALLY AS YOU'RE COMING FROM THE SOUTH. ONCE YOU SEE THE EXISTING MONUMENT SIGN ON 206, YOU'VE PASSED THE BUILDING, YOU PASSED THE EXIT ONTO BRIDGE POINT ROAD. SO THESE ARE THE SIGNS THAT WERE DEVELOPED. A FEW YEARS AGO WITH OUR TRAFFIC. CONSULTANT AND, AND SO THAT'S NOW SOMETHING THAT WE'LL BE ABLE TO SUBMIT THE, THE PERMIT TO DOT AND BELIEVE THAT IT WILL BE APPROVED. AND WE DO WANT TO THANK THE DOT BECAUSE THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT THEY DO. THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT PLAYS TENNIS HAVE ACTUALLY GROWN SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE THE PANDEMIC, BECAUSE IT'S AN ACTIVITY THAT IT'S AN OUTDOOR ACTIVITY AND IT'S PERFECT FOR SOCIAL DISTANCE. IT'S A GAME THAT CAN BE PLAYED FROM FOUR YEAR OLD TO WHATEVER AGE, AS LONG AS YOU CAN STILL MOVE. WITHOUT ACCESS TO THE HIGH SCHOOL COURTS, THE TOWNSHIP WILL NEED TO BUILD NEW COURTS, WHICH COST MONEY AND IS TIME CONSUMING. WE TALKED ABOUT THE SENIOR CENTER LAST MEETING ON JUNE 12TH. THIS IS A FOLLOW UP TO THE MEETING THAT WE HAD WITH THE COUNTY. OFFICE ON AGING. OUR BUILDINGS FORM AND RICH DIETRICH HAS BEEN COMPLETING AND OVERSEEING WORK. THERE WAS A DEEP CLEANING THAT WAS DONE BY OUR CLEANING CREW. CARPETS HAVE BEEN SHAMPOOED. WE'VE INSTALLED TOUCHLESS PAPER AND SOAP DISPENSERS FOR THE TWO RESTROOMS, AND THE SENIOR CENTERS, AND SET THOSE FIXTURES AT THE PROPER ADA COMPLIANCE HEIGHT, WHICH HAD NOT BEEN FROM THE OLD FIXTURES, SOME THE FRONT DOOR SADDLE HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE DOUBLE DOORS TO THE REAR OUTSIDE HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED, UPCOMING WORK IS PAINTING AND UPDATING THE CEILING LIGHTINGS. HOPEFULLY TO BE SCHEDULED IN SEPTEMBER, AND DEEP CLEANING OF THE VENTS AND UPDATING OF THE HVAC SYSTEM THAT WILL BE A LARGER EXPENSE. SO THAT WILL PROBABLY COME THROUGH THE BUDGET PROCESS FOR 2025. THE COUNTY HELPING OUT WITH ANY OF THIS OR IS THIS ON? SO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY IS THAT THE AS THE AS THE OWNER OF THE BUILDING, THE TOWNSHIP IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE BUILDING. SO THEY OPERATE THE KITCHEN, THE LUNCH AND THE PROGRAMING AND, AND HAVE THE PERSONNEL. THE I WANTED TO JUST UPDATE YOU ON THE INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND. YEAH, THAT'S TRUE. PARTICULAR BLUE PRINTED. IT'S NOT AS ROYAL BLUE AS THIS. IT'S ACTUALLY MORE OF THE BLUE FROM OUR SEAL, AND SO WE DO NEED TO KIND OF TURN AROUND PRETTY QUICKLY ON THE COLOR SCHEME SO WE CAN ORDER THE EQUIPMENT. THE EQUIPMENT, PLAY STRUCTURES YOU'VE SEEN MULTIPLE TIMES IN MANY PRESENTATIONS, THAT REALLY HASN'T CHANGED MUCH.
