ALONG WITH ALL THESE OTHER PROGRAMS, AND ALONG WITH THE ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATIONAL MANDATES, WE ALSO HAVE GOLDEN OBJECTIVES UNDER HEALTH EDUCATION. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND MANAGEMENT. AND THE OTHERS ARE. THEY ALIGNED WITH OUR PUBLIC HEALTH ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS, SO QUALITY IMPROVEMENT, CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS. AND I THINK THE OTHER IS. WE ALSO WANT TO FOCUS ON PROMOTING THE SERVICES OF THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. AND THEN THE THIRD COLUMN ON THIS TABLE IS A PRIORITY ALIGNMENT. WE HAVE SO MANY REQUIREMENTS THAT WE HAVE TO INCORPORATE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES, FOR EXAMPLE, FROM OUR COUNTY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT PLAN, WHICH IS HEALTHIER, SOMERSET SO WE HAVE ADOPTED CERTAIN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FROM THE LARGER COUNTY PLAN. WE ALSO HAVE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES THAT WE'VE INCORPORATED BASED ON NEEDS THAT WE'VE SEEN IN TOWN AND ALSO BASED ON FUNDING THAT WE HAVE AVAILABLE. UM SO YOU WILL SEE, LIKE UNDER THE PRIORITY ALIGNMENT. IT WAS EITHER HEALTHIER SOMERSET OR MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP HEALTH. WE ALSO WANT TO UM. REALLY REALLY REVAMP OUR MAYOR AS WELL. THIS PROGRAM SO UNDER SOME NEXT TO SOME OF THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES HERE, WE'VE ALSO STATED WHETHER THIS MEETS SOME OF OUR MAYORS, WELLNESS OBJECTIVES. AH WE ALSO HAVE APPEARED SETTLEMENT FUNDS.

THERE ARE CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS UNDER THAT. SO WE TRIED TO CREATE A DOCUMENT THAT SHOWED ALIGNMENT ON AMONGST VARIOUS SOURCES. UM THE OTHER SUSTAINABLE JERSEY. WE I THINK MAYBE DURING COVID. WE HAD RECEIVED THE SILVER SILVER AWARD FOR SUSTAINABLE JERSEY ARE CYCLE FOR THAT WILL BE COMING UP SOON. SO YOU KNOW, NINO, WE CAN WORK WITH YOU ON MAKING SURE THAT WE'RE YOU KNOW BE. THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT HAS ADOPTED SOME GOALS FROM SUSTAINABLE JERSEY.

LAUREN SHE LEADS ARE SUSTAINABLE JERSEY EFFORTS IN TOWN, SO SHE IS A GREAT RESOURCE AS WELL TO HELP US MEET THOSE REQUIREMENTS. AND THEN ALONG WITH MAYORS, WELLNESS AND OPIOID SETTLEMENT FUNDS. WE ALSO HAVE OUR PUBLIC HEALTH ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS, SO WE TRIED TO DOCUMENT WHERE SOME OF THESE GOALS WILL ALSO MEET THE PUBLIC HEALTH ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS, THE STRONGER REQUIREMENTS MOST OF WHAT WE DO HERE WILL MEET ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS, BUT THERE ARE SOME VERY SPECIFIC ONES STIPULATED IN THE STANDARDS AND MEASURES.

WHICH WE WANT TO MAKE SURE WE'RE INCORPORATING AS WE START OUR RE ACCREDITATION EFFORTS IN 2024 FOR NATIONAL ACCREDITATION. UM. AND THE OTHER THING WE WANTED TO INCORPORATE. THE OTHER AREA IS, UM THE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT WE'VE BEEN WORKING WITH OR MONTGOMERY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ON UPDATING ALL OF OUR PROTOCOLS, EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLANS, MUTUAL AID AGREEMENTS AGREEMENTS. AS WE'RE REQUIRED TO DO SO. YOU KNOW, THE . THE NEW REGULATION WITH THE

OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AS WE HAVE TO UPDATE OUR PLANS MORE OFTEN AND DO IT ELECTRONICALLY, SO EVERYTHING HAS TO BE AVAILABLE IN HANDY, SO IT'S IMPORTANT THAT WE TRACK AND HAVE THE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS OBJECTIVES AS PART OF OUR STRATEGIC PLAN, BECAUSE THIS IS GOING TO NEED UPDATING EVERY TWO YEARS COMPARED TO BEFORE. I THINK IT WAS EVERY FOUR OR FIVE YEARS. SO IT'S MORE OFTEN AND WE HAVE TO GET IT RIGHT AND HAVE EVERYTHING READILY AVAILABLE.

AND EVERYTHING HAS TO BE UPLOADED DIGITALLY WHERE, AS BEFORE. IT WAS JUST IT COULD SIT IN YOUR OFFICE OR IN A FILE SOMEWHERE ON THE SERVER. THE OTHER REQUIREMENT FOR ACCREDITATION IS TO MAKE SURE WE'RE INCORPORATING OBJECTIVES FROM HEALTHY NEW JERSEY 2030.

HOWEVER THE STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT THEY, UM THEN YOU JUST STAFFING SHORTAGES. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO UPDATE THAT PLAN, SO THEY'RE VERY BEHIND AND THAT'S GOING TO BE A WHILE BEFORE THEY HAVE THAT UPDATED SO INSTEAD OF IN LIEU OF NOT HAVING HEALTHY NEW JERSEY 2030. WE'RE INCORPORATING HEALTHY PEOPLE 2030 OBJECTIVES. SO THAT WILL HELP US MEET THOSE REQUIREMENTS AS WELL. SO I JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU GIVE YOU ALL JUST IN GENERAL OVERVIEW. OF WHAT THE GOALS. WE ARE. THAT WE ARE INCLUDING IN OUR STRATEGIC PLAN ONCE WE HAVE THE LARGER PLAN DEVELOPED, THERE'LL BE SOME BACKGROUND ON IT OTHER UM HYPERLOCAL DATA THAT WILL INCLUDE IN THIS DOCUMENT, THE GOAL WILL BE TO PRESENT ALL OF THESE OBJECTIVES TO YOU AND HELP US AND GIVE US FEEDBACK. DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD FURTHER CONSOLIDATE THESE? IS THERE ROOM TO ADD? MORE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES . UM AND. AS WE'RE DEVELOPING THIS DOCUMENT. SO WE ARE TECHNICALLY. IN OUR STRATEGIC PLAN NEEDS TO BE UPDATED EVERY FIVE YEARS. WE'RE CURRENTLY IN OUR 2020 THROUGH 2025 PLAN, BUT THERE'S JUST BEEN SO MANY CHANGES THAT WE AND WE'VE BEEN WORKING OFF OF MULTIPLE DRAFTS, UM THROUGHOUT DURING COVID. BUT THERE'S BEEN THERE'S BEEN SO MANY CHANGES TO THE COUNTY LEVEL PLANS TO HEALTHY PEOPLE. 2030 MAYORS, WELLNESS OPIOID SETTLEMENT THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE BEFORE THAT WE WANT TO JUST GET IT RIGHT. EVEN THOUGH WE ONLY HAVE TECHNICALLY, ONE MORE YEAR LEFT TO GO FOR THE PLAN. UM BUT IT'S IMPORTANT TO SHOWCASE OBJECTIVES THAT WE CAN. WE CAN WORK TOWARDS AND THEN SHOW PROGRESS MADE LIKE, YOU KNOW, IT'S ONE THING TO SAY LIKE WE'RE GOING TO INCLUDE THESE OBJECTIVES. IT'S ANOTHER TO SAY IF WE'RE MEETING MEETING THEM OR NOT. A FULL PLAN ON HOW TO ADDRESS SOCIAL SERVICES IN TOWN, THE DEPARTMENT OF SOMERSET COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES THEY HAVE A MASTER PLAN OR THEIR OWN VERSION OF THE STRATEGIC PLAN THAT THEY WILL BE PRESENTING EARLY NEXT YEAR. OKAY WE WANT TO. WE WANT TO TRY TO ADOPT SOME OF THEIR OBJECTIVES. THEY ARE DOING THEIR OWN DATA COLLECTION, WHICH INCLUDES MONTGOMERY PLAN. WILL INCLUDE SOME HYPERLOCAL DATA FROM OUR AREA. AND SO WE WANT TO TRY TO JUST USE THEIR DATA AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO HELP US MEET OUR HELP. IDENTIFY WHAT OUR GOALS AND OBJECTIVES WILL BE. I KNOW THAT THERE ARE ALSO RIGHT NOW HAVE BEEN INVENTORYING MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS IN OTHER COMMUNITIES. BECAUSE THE GLOBAL BE TO START DOING OUTREACH. BUT IF WE DON'T KNOW ALL OF THE PROVIDERS THAT ARE IN TOWN, MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS IS GOING TO BE CHALLENGING TO DO THAT OUTREACH A HAVE THEY HAVE SOME INITIATIVES THAT THEY'RE WORKING ON, AND I THINK THEY ARE ALSO SLATED TO RECEIVE MORE SUSTAINABLE FUNDING FROM THE STATE, SO THEY HAVE SOME GREAT IDEAS AND, UM THEIR LEADERSHIP IS WORKING ON I'M REALLY HOPING MUNICIPALITIES. UM. OR ADDRESS OR SOCIAL SERVICES NEEDS. OKAY, SO THERE'S A LOT MORE INFORMATION PENDING FROM SOMERSET COUNTY, SO I AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, WANT TO KIND OF FOLLOW THEIR LEAD. ACCEPTED HIM. SCHOOL STAFF AND SCHOOL LEADERSHIP. STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATES AND THEN I HAD GRANT UPDATES. SO I. I'VE BEEN MEANING TO SHARE OUR GRANT EXPENDITURES WITH WITH THE BOARD AND THERE WAS A QUESTION ABOUT HOW MUCH WE'VE OFFSET AND SALARIES. SO WE ARE. WE HAVE THREE BIG GRANTS THAT WERE WORKING. ALSO, THERE'S TWO RIGHT NOW. THERE IS A PUBLIC HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT. UM THE TOTAL THAT WE'VE RECEIVED IS ABOUT $250,000 FOR THAT ONE. THERE IS A STRENGTHENING GRANT.

THESE GRANTS ARE BASED OFF OF FISCAL YEAR. SO JULY THROUGH THE END OF JUNE. FOR THE 2023 FISCAL YEAR WE HAD RECEIVED 274,730. OUT OF THAT WE SPENT 150 OVER 150,000 ON SALARIES AND WAGES AND CLOSE TO 60,000 ON FRINGE. 62,000 AND SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT. AND THESE THESE THIS IS STUFF THAT WE NEED FOR THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS OF THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. AND THEN FOR THE 2024 STRENGTHENING GRANT THAT TOTALS 495,000. ABOUT $495,000. WE HAVE UM SO FAR, MOST OF IT IS SALARIES AND WAGES SO FAR WE'VE SPENT OVER $141,000 ON SALARIES AND WAGES AND OVER $40,000 ON FRINGE. THIS IS ALL MONEY THAT THAT HELPS OFFSET THE COST ON THE TOWNSHIP. AND THEN ABOUT $76,000 FOR SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT. UM TRAINING, WHICH ALSO INCLUDES TRAININGS. UM SO WE'VE BEEN OFFSETTING. TREMENDOUS AMOUNT ON SALARIES AND WAGES AND FRINGE, WHICH TAKES THE BURDEN OFF OF OUR TOWNSHIP BUDGET. HOW MUCH HELPS SO DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT AN ANTICIPATED FUNDING FOR 2025? AND THAT LEADS ME TO, UM UM I GUESS THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT WE'RE GOING TO BE RECEIVING COMING FROM JULY 1ST. THE STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT HAD EMAILED ALL OF THE LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENTS RECENTLY STATING THAT THERE'S GOING TO BE A SIGNIFICANT CUT IN THE FUNDING. SO YOU KNOW WE'RE GOING FROM 495,002 BARELY $100,000 STARTING JULY. YEAH, YEAH, WE DO HAVE THREE GRAND FUNDED STAFF TO HELP WITH SOME OF OUR INCREASED LEVEL OF, YOU KNOW. ACTIVITIES AND WORK THAT WE HAVE TO DO. SO WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO COME UP WITH A PLAN ON HOW WE'RE GOING TO ATTRACT. SO YOU KNOW, KEEP THE BOARD UPDATED, BUT THAT'S THAT'S A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE. AND FOR US, YOU KNOW IT IMPACTS THE THREE EMPLOYEES AND IN THE DEPARTMENT. UM AND THAT THE WORKLOAD HASN'T GONE AWAY. I MEAN, IT'S DEFINITELY BETTER THAN DURING COVID. BUT THERE'S SOCIAL SERVICES NEEDS. UM THERE'S MORE OUTREACH THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE IN THE COMMUNITY. AND ALL OF THE WORK THAT WE DIDN'T GET TO DO DURING COVID. SO THERE'S ALL THAT PENT UP WORK TO IN BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS AND ALL THE DIFFERENT PLANS AND DOCUMENTS THAT NEED TO BE UPDATED. SO THERE'S A LOT OF WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, AND IT'S COMING IN A SIGNIFICANT TIME FOR GROWTH FOR POPULATION, TOO IN MONTGOMERY, YES, YES.

YEAH. MAYOR EUROPE HAS ALSO BEEN INVOLVED WITH SOME OF THE ADVOCACY. BUT THERE'S A THERE'S A LOT OF ADVOCACY GOING ON. IN PUBLIC HEALTH. WE WERE BETTER IN NUMBERS, AND SO WE'VE BEEN RELYING ON OUR PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS TO DO THAT ADVOCACY , THE PUBLIC HEALTH PRIORITY FUNDING RESOLUTION THAT THE BOARD PASSED. UM WAS VERY HELPFUL. BUT THE YOU KNOW, WE HAVEN'T SEEN THAT CHANGE IN THE STATE LEGISLATURE YET, SO WE STILL HAVE TO KEEP AT IT. BUT THERE'S A LOT OF ADVOCACY HAPPENING BEHIND THE SCENES WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS WHERE WE COULD DEFINITELY NEED YOUR HELP. MORE. AND ALSO WITH THE STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. BUT UM, THE STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT HAS DIFFERENT PLANS FOR HOW THEY'RE GOING TO USE ADDITIONAL MONEY THAT THEY'RE RECEIVING FROM THE CDC. SO THAT'S A WHOLE OTHER OTHER ISSUE.

SO WHERE WE HAVE TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT HOW WE'RE GOING TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THE GRAND FUNDED EMPLOYEES AND THEN WHAT THE FUTURE OF OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM WILL BE, BUT WE LEAVE RELY ON OUR INTERESTS A LOT TO HELP WITH A LOT OF THESE DELIVERABLES. YEAH. MHM. YEAH. I THINK WE HAD RECEIVED SUPPORT FROM THE BOARD AND ONE OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGS, TOO. UM YOU KNOW TO GET SOME NURSING INTERNS BECAUSE RECORDS HAS KIND OF MODIFIED THEIR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM. UM TO ALLOW FOR A MORE EXTENDED STAY WITH THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND THE GOAL IS TO HAVE SOMEBODY IN PLACE, MAYBE LIKE EARLY NEXT YEAR, OR THE SECOND QUARTER OF THE YEAR. TO HAVE AN INTERN FOR THIS SEMESTER NURSING INTERN OR TWO FOR THIS SEMESTER. AND THAT WILL HELP AND HOPEFULLY BY THEN WE'LL HAVE WE'LL HAVE A PLAN ON HOW WE CAN BRING IN MORE MPH. UM AND EVEN UNDERGRADUATE PUBLIC HEALTH STUDENTS. YEAH.

WHO HAS BEEN HELPING TREMENDOUSLY TO ADDRESS OUR SECURITY NEEDS IN TOWN, WHICH ARE ONLY GROWING. AND SO THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE'RE ALSO GOING TO LOOK AT AS PART OF OUR STRATEGIC PLAN TO COLLECT SOME DATA ON IT, AND TO STREAMLINE OUR EFFORTS THERE. AND OH, THAT REMINDS ME THE RECKLESS COOPERATIVE EXTENSION DID ACTUALLY COME OUT TO OUR WALK FOR WELLNESS PROGRAM THAT WE HAD HAD IN NOVEMBER. WE'RE TRYING TO DO A COMMUNITY PROGRAM EVERY MONTH. IT COULD BE A BIG OR SMALL EVENT, BUT SOMETHING TO GET THE COMMUNITY TO COME OUT AND PARTICIPATE WHERE WE ALSO HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE SOME EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION.

AND MAYBE HAVE OUR RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND YOU KNOW, TO HELP US MAKE THEM MORE FUN. SO WE'RE OUR GOAL IS TO BE THERE TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND INFORMATION AND RESOURCES AND FOR THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO BE THERE TO MAKE THE EVENT FUN AND, UM RUTGERS COOPERATIVE EXTENSION HAD ACTUALLY LED A LAW . THEY ALSO DO COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS. THEY ALSO HAVE PROGRAMMING THAT THEY CAN BRING INTO THE SCHOOL. THEY HAVE A GREAT COMMUNITY GARDENING PROGRAM. YOU KNOW, I'M NOT SURE ON THE SCHOOLS THAT BUT THEY'RE GREAT RESOURCE TO BRING THAT IN, AND THEY ARE GREAT PARTNERS FROM MAYORS, WELLNESS PROGRAMS AS WELL. UM ONE OF THE RECOMMENDATIONS THAT THEY HAD TO IS BECAUSE MONTGOMERY IS SICK WITH THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE COUNTY. AND A LOT OF THE FOUR AGE PROGRAMS THAT FOCUS ON YOUTH DEVELOPMENT OR IN BRIDGEWATER.

THEY HAD RECOMMENDED THAT THE TOWNSHIP CONSIDER MAYBE HAVING OR CREATING A FOUR H CLUB IN TOWN. IT CAN BE. MAYBE IT'LL LEAD YOU KNOW IT CAN BE USED LEAD AND WE HAVE A GREAT RESOURCE WITH THE STUDENTS WERE INTERESTED IN THOSE KINDS OF PROJECTS, MOSTLY STUDENTS WHO MIGHT YOU KNOW WHO WHO MIGHT NOT BE PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS AND OTHER EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ARE MORE INTERESTED IN MORE CIVIC MINDED. MORE SERVICE MINDED MIGHT BE INTERESTED SO.
